What a few weeks!

Let's see. My daughter had her birthday last week. During that week we had a fun time. We went to a Tuesday night White Sox game, my sister had gotten tickets and what tickets they were. We sat in the scout seats behind home plate. AWESOME! Not only were the seats great, but they included so many things. We got a buffet - prime rib, baked salmon, turkey, chicken, free drinks, dessert bar - cheesecakes, cookies, fruit, in the seats all the hot dogs, gourmet sandwiches, popcorn, soda, water, "special" beverages, and ice cream was included too. In the lounge/buffet area we saw Ron Kittle, Minnie Minoso, and Moose Skowron signing autographs and posing for pictures. The kids (my nephew was there too) got to meet an umpire, he gave them each a baseball. We also saw Roger Bossard and Kenny Williams too. At one point I look at my wife and borrow a line from Field of Dreams, "Is this heaven?" Just incredible, unfortunately they lost to KC.

Then my Bro in law calls, one of the people he has done work with has sky box tickets and my wife and I get invited along too. Another awesome time and this time the Sox won an exciting game in the ninth against the Tigers. We saw something you don't normally see. At one point a sox runner was rounding second, slipped and tried to get back to the bag. As he tried to go back, the umpire tried to get back in position and fell on the runner, Jermaine Dye I think. The ump ruled Dye safe because of his interference. Leyland came out and argued but lost and got thrown out. And there were fireworks after the game too.

My daughters party was that Saturday. 13 7-8 year old girls hopped up on soda, cake, and adrenalin, WOW! We had her party at haunted trails and the best part was, no clean up for us and the kids had fun.

This year has been something, win a trip to Disney and stay in the Grand Floridian, then get to see a Sox game from right behind home plate - 11 rows up plus all the extras that came with that, then get to see a game from a sky box and the extras with that. It has been a great time for the most part. The only downside has been my grandfather's health. He's in his 80's. He was a Marine in WW2. Over the last few years, his health has been on the decline. It's hard on him and my grandmother. Anyone who reads this, please add Grampa Roy to your prayers.
